· | New PDF engine with improved text rendering and new options. The differences should be obvious when you look at the dots in the table of contents, which are more harmonious, a proper word and character spacing especially for right-aligned headings and finally, smoother pictures in the PDF.
New PDF Options in Project|Properties -> PDF:
· | Default zoom factor for the PDF viewer
· | Optional 128 bit encryption
· | New help context tool (Tools menu): this tool lets you delete, add, import and export help context numbers.
· | Native handling of JPEG and PNG images: Version 3.30 can handle JPEG and PNG images directly. That means if you have JPEG or PNG images, you may directly insert them into a topic without converting them to BMP first.
· | Tables in print manuals & PDF: tables are now reduced to the print width if they are too wide. The last column is adjusted automatically, if possible.
· | Splash screen: soft fading can be turned off in "Tools|Customize".
· | e-Books: a new viewer template is included. The look of the template is like the standard viewer except that it doesn't have a table of contents.
Bug fixes in version 3.30:
· | "Apply layout" menu items in the text editor's context menu did not work.
· | HTML & HTML Help: image hotspots were not properly resized when images size reduction was used.
· | Print: the "print all text in black" option did not work in particular situations.
· | Print & PDF: the frame of shape objects was too thin in the printout.
· | Pring & PDF: text lines were not printed at the bottom of the page with some printer drivers! This problem ocurred with printer drivers that returned a wrong bottom margin, so the print area was not calculated correctly. It may also have affected the last row in tables.
· | Undocked table of contents is hidden when you start a project report, but the TOC was not automatically shown when the report window closed.
